The Dot
is a Firefox script that protects you from malicious coding in
the Myspace forums. It is, quite simply, a set of CSS rules that
blocks your browser from loading known exploits that Myspace has
yet to filter.
The Dot
is a modified userContent file that is placed in the chrome folder
inside your Application Data folder. After saving the file in
that location, you need only restart your browser to activate
the protection.
The script is totally
customizable, using a mixture of basic CSS styles combined with
advanced CSS selectors, anyone can edit it with Notepad or a CSS
editor.
There are currently two
versions of The Dot:
- The Green
Dot
- blocks attacks in forums, group forums, and messages that
use the background exploit
- The
Red Dot (recommended) - provides the same protection
as The Green Dot, and also blocks embeds in the new forums
